Style and Sustainability Gala

Urban Blooms and Modern Makers was successful in throwing their first fundraiser, an inaugural event, The Style + Sustainability Gala (SSGALA). SSGALA was truly a one-of-a-kind experience that consisted of a “living” runway fashion show, 23 vendors, 60 models, 26 local professional and DAAP designers and an impressive planted robot. Our attendees were approximated at close to 500 people. In sponsorship, we were able to raise $9,500, $4,000 of that was granted by ArtsWave and the remaining $5,500 was through personal and small business donations. After expenses, UB netted close to $5,000. 

However, the social impact that the SSGALA had on the city of Cincinnati, sustainable fashion industry and the small business and start-up community was far more lucrative. Guests were overheard, stating that the SSGALA was the most unique and exciting event of 2016 in Cincinnati. Sponsors, such as Taft Ale House, translated their impression into a verbal pledge to double their donation for SSGALA II in 2017.
